What you will do

Perform supragingival scaling and polishing within the scope of your state permit and under doctor supervision
Help patients feel relaxed and informed, explaining what you are doing before you do it
Take digital x-rays and intraoral photos as directed so the doctor has a clear picture
Chart findings accurately and flag anything that needs a doctor or hygienist to take a closer look
Coach patients on brushing, flossing, and home care in plain, encouraging language
Set up, break down, and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms between every patient
Follow infection control, OSHA, and state scope of practice guidelines carefully and consistently
Keep the hygiene schedule flowing so patients are seen on time and never feel rushed

What we look for

A current supragingival scaling permit or certification for Kansas or Missouri, or eligibility to obtain one
Dental assisting experience and a steady, gentle hand
A warm, patient first attitude and real care for helping people feel comfortable
Sharp attention to detail and pride in careful, thorough work
Comfort with digital x-rays, intraoral cameras, and modern dental technology, or the eagerness to learn
Clear, friendly communication with patients, families, and teammates
A reliable, team first spirit that keeps the day running smoothly
Flexibility to support our Overland Park and Peculiar offices as needed
